Ground-Based Nutrition has marketed this with an emphasis on being ‘organic’ – however, there are plenty of 100% natural pre workouts on the market already, so we’ll take a deeper look into what makes this ‘special’.
Claimed to promote:
- Sporting Performance
- Energy
- Focus
In this review, we’ll analyze Organic Preworkout’s ingredients, whether it causes any side effects, and give you a final conclusion.
Take a look:
About The Company
This is a UK-Based supplements company that ensures all of their products are ‘organic’ and 100% natural.
While we like this, they aren’t the first company to make natural supplements – in fact, most supplements on the market are natural, so this isn’t a unique selling point that’s exclusive to Ground-Based Nutrition
Let’s take a look at what’s inside.
The Ingredients and How They Work
As we’ve mentioned, Ground-Based nutrition has placed a focus on being 100% natural and organic, which we like. However, we’re disappointed by what we see on its ingredient list – proprietary blends.
What’s a proprietary blend?
Simply put, proprietary blends are mixtures of numerous ingredients that are only shown as 1 overall amount (if you look at the ingredient list below, you’ll see the ‘Organic Nitric Oxide Blend’ contains many ingredients, but no-one knows the exact dosage of each ingredient).
Ultimately, this increases your risk of side effects – some nutrients can be potentially harmful in large dosages. As a result, we recommend you to avoid supplements containing these blends.
Anyway, we give every supplement a chance; so let’s see whether Ground-Based Nutrition’s pre workout can redeem itself.
See for yourself:
Organic Nitric Oxide Blend
This is the first proprietary blend in Ground-Based Nutrition’s pre workout. It contains 4 ingredients, but no-one knows the dosage of any of them – meaning we don’t know how effective each ingredient really is.
We’re only given the overall amount of this blend (3,300mg), which is a good amount of ingredients. However, the only ingredient prove to work in this blend is Red Beetroot Extract; this is shown to promote muscle pumps due to containing a high amount of nitrates.
The problem is, the rest are shown to be ineffective in pre workout supplements – and there might only be a minimal amount of Red Beetroot inside (as we’re not given the exact dosage).
The good news it that none of the ingredients in this blend have been reported to cause any side effects.
Organic Metabolic Boost and Energy Blend
By now, we’re getting bored of seeing ‘organic’ plastered everywhere on this pre workout’s ingredient list. And we’re getting even more bored of seeing more proprietary blends…
Anyway, this ‘Organic Metabolic Boost and Energy Blend’ is the best blend in Ground-Based Nutrition’s supplement – it contains both Green Tea Extract and Green Coffee Bean Extract (which have shown to directly impact fat loss).
However, the problem is, this is a pre workout supplement – not a fat burner. We would’ve preferred to see key pre workout ingredients such as Citrulline Malate and L-Carnitine instead.
Ground-Based Nutrition did some research, as Citrulline is extracted from watermelons (and this pre workout contains watermelon). But you need MASSIVE amounts of watermelon to get an optimal dosage of Citrulline (6,000mg) – as this whole blend is 1,650mg, it’s impossible for there to be an optimal dosage here.

Organic Strength, Endurance, and Focus Blend
We’ll cut the bullsh*t and give you a quick summary of this blend. This ‘organic strength, endurance, and focus blend’ actually contains one of our favorite pre workout ingredients – Rhodiola Rosea (which has proven to reduce fatigue and boost your mind-muscle-connection in the gym).
However, it’s been hidden among other ineffective nutrients in a pre workout; while Nettle can be useful in a testosterone booster, it’s not needed in a pre workout. The other ingredients are simply ineffective in general.
Organic Alkalizing & Digestive Health Blend
Finally, the last blend in Ground-Based Nutrition’s Organic Preworkout supplement. We hoped this supplement would finish on a strong point, but we’ve been let down again here.
In a nutshell, none of the ingredients inside this blend are shown to improve your gym session – making them useless in a pre workout supplement.

Side Effects
As we’ve mentioned, proprietary blends always increase your risk of side effects – it’s not good taking a supplement without knowing the exact dosages of each ingredient inside.
However, none of the ingredients in Ground-Based Nutrition’s Organic Pre Workout have been reported to cause any side effects – the biggest problem is, only a few of the ingredients have shown to actually work.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Rhodiola Rosea is a key pre workout ingredient
- Contains some fat burning ingredients that’re shown to promote fat loss
Cons:
- Fat loss isn’t a key benefit of taking a pre workout
- Missing most key pre workout ingredients
- No ingredients to match claims of ‘energy boosts’
- All ingredients part of proprietary blends
- Not good value for money for $44.99

Review Conclusion
Ground-Based Nutrition are too focused on making their products ‘organic’ that they’ve missed out key ingredients here. As a result, while this is a 100% natural supplement, it’s also not going to improve your workout.
We don’t understand why they go through so much trouble to make all their ingredients organic, but then add them all into proprietary blends. Ultimately, a company should be proud of their ingredients, and should be showing their customers the exact dosage of each ingredient is inside their products – this way, we can see how good a product is, and whether it’s good value for money.
Final Verdict
Organic Preworkout isn’t good value for money – it’s mostly filled with ineffective ingredients, and relys on its gimmick of being ‘organic’ too much.
We recommend searching for an pre workout that doesn’t contain any proprietary blends, and has more key pre workouts inside – so you know for sure that it’ll improve your gym session.
